We must start spelling AFRIKA with "k" and not "C" and we must all do it today, whether in our media posts, textbooks, official documents or map etc Why is it so important?
1. To Spell Afrika Our Native Place In Our Afrikan Language
It is very important.
First, can you spell Afrika in your native Afrikan language? Please spell it out. Is it spelt with C? No. It is spelt with K, Afrika and not "Africa".
When I was learning Swahili with the Duolingo app, I once spelt Afrika as Africa and they scored me wrong, i did it again and theu marked me wrong until I "took correction" and started spelling Afrika correctly. In my ethnic igbo language, the spelling is also "Afrika". The examples remain endless, it is a fact, it is "Afrika" and not "Afrika" in every native Afrikan language.
Therefore if you believe that Afrika is your native land your heritage then spell it with "K" as Afrika and not a foreign language.
Secondly, To Assert Our Trusteeship of Afrika
We must spell Afrika with K to assert true trusteeship of Afrika. Who do Afrika belong to? To Afrikans or to English People?
If Afrika belongs to the British then they have a right to name it "Africa" in their spelling, but if Afrika belongs to Afrikans then the spelling must be in the spelling of Afrikans.
Afrika belong to Afrikans, but for since the days of slavery and colonialism that hasn't been a reality, we the Afrikan people have lived in our continent as tenants to foreigners and we have accepted that for long. But now we say "Afrika is FOR Afrikans" and he who names it owns it so we assert the Afrika on our continent to reclaim our possession.
3. To Boost Our Mentality
Thirdly, we must spell Afrika with a K to revive the control mentality in our minds. Once we insist on "Afrika* and not "Africa" then we psychologically score a victory that begins to motivate other reclamation conquests.
So spelling Afrika with "K" is a mentality of Kings: Afrikans are back as Kings again and not as vassals.
4. For Pan-Afrikanism
We must spell Afrika with K for Pan-Afrikanism to be fueled. Pan-Afrikanism is Afrikn unity. Once we Afrikans all unanimously insist on spelling our name as Afrika, it boosts Afrikan Unity so much, because, whenever a people come together and do anything together, it boosts Unity, and the success they get from the project increases their faith for more.
Let us unite, insist on "Afrika".
5. To Know Who We Are
Finally, we must spell Afrika with "K" and not "C" because spelling Afrika with C is meaningless while spelling Afrika with K gives us the greatest heritage on planet earth.
How?
According to world famous scholar, Prof Ivan Van Sertima, the name "Afrika" was derived from the Egyptian term “Afru-ika” which means “birthplace” or “Motherland,” According to Prof Sertima, "Af-rui-ka" means “to turn toward the opening of the Ka, womb or birthplace.”
Now, My Analysis:
If Afrika means birthplace, then what does that make Afrika? Among many other things, it makes Afrika the "Land of Origin" and therefore makes Afrikans "the original People", therefore, "Afrikan" can comfortably mean "The Original". Am Afrikan, am Original.
The meaning is not captured in the original spelling Afrika, where the word "Ka" which is "Soul" is represented, but is whitewashed off in the colonial spelling "Africa" which to me means Colony.
The Task Involved
The seemingly simple task if spelling Afrika with a K doesn't come entirely handy, it takes some little sacrifices like:
1. At first, search engines might not easily pick up the K spelt Afrika because The C has been the "norm" a negative norm. But as we all begin to cooperate and get it right, then Afrika the King becomes normal for the good of all Afrikans and search engines themselves begin to act normal.
2. Some may believe you are wrong, eg in writing textbooks.
You can include the explanations in this article as the reason why you did it so. With that you have educated people rightly to be kings and not servants.
Afrika Must Unite
